M. Yusuf Fadlullah Hafidz Nasution

Hafidz was awarded a bachelor of law degree in 2009 by Trisakti University, Jakarta, majoring in business and industrial law, before going on to earn a master’s degree in corporate and financial services law from the National University of Singapore in 2011. He also served as an intern in a major Singapore law firm, where he gained invaluable insights into the day-to-day operation of the common law.

He joined AHP as an eager apprentice directly from the NUS. His diligence and hard work paid off when he was made an associate of the firm in 2011. While at college, he also served internships with a number of other prominent Jakarta law firms.

Since joining AHP, Hafidz has focused his practice on capital markets, M&A, and foreign direct investment, and has gained considerable experience to date working on a wide variety of matters, including the PT Atlas Resources IPO and other significant capital market transactions involving coal mining companies. He has also worked on a proposed spin-off involving a business belonging to one of the biggest telecommunications operators in Indonesia.  In addition, he regularly advises a number of our retainer clients in the automotive, international trade and retail sectors.  

While at college, Hafidz was an avid participant in mooting competitions, and represented his university in the Indonesian heats of the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, as well as in a large number of domestic competitions.

A fluent English speaker, Hafidz is highly regarded by his colleagues for his interest in legal research, and is known for his prowess in unearthing both international civil and common law precedents for comparative purposes.

A keen sportsman, Hafidz likes to spend his spare time jogging or on the football field. He is also an avid photographer and a member of a number of photography clubs, both in Jakarta and his home city, Medan.
