Eri Raffaera Budiarti
Eri, who was made a partner of Assegaf Hamzah & Partners in 2012, commenced her legal career right after graduation in 1995, amassing considerable experience and expertise with a number of other premier law firms in Jakarta prior to making the move to AHP in 2007.
As a leading figure in AHP’s General Corporate Practice Group, she focuses on M&A and capital market mandates. She has played a leading role in a wide range of significant transactions involving both domestic and international blue-chip corporations in recent years, including the Indika Energy IPO and a subsequent debt offering and private placement by the company, and a complex internal merger operation involving the Japfa Group companies. She was also a prominent member of the legal team that assisted the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) in its efforts to resurrect the domestic banking sector in the wake of the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997/98, an experience that provided her with in-depth, first-hand knowledge of the banking industry. Currently, Eri has overall responsibility for AHP’s relations with Japanese clients in connection with M&A matters.
Eri holds a bachelor of law degree, majoring in economic law, from the University of Indonesia, and an advocate's license from the Indonesian Bar Association (Peradi). She has participated in a number of law-related training programs, with the most recent being a Euromoney course on Warranties, Indemnities and Disclosure in M&A. She also recently spoke at a major seminar on the franchising industry in Jakarta.
A practicing advocate, Eri is an active member of Peradi, as well as the Indonesian Legal Consultants Association (AKHI).
