Edwin Prasetya

Edwin joined Assegaf Hamzah & Partners in September 2010 after having served an internship at another leading Jakarta law firm. In his short time with AHP, he has managed to carve out a name for himself as an up-and-coming young lawyer thanks to his incisiveness, natural legal intuition and seemingly inexhaustible capacity for hard work.

Since joining the AHP team, Edwin has gained valuable experience of the workings of the capital markets through his participation in the USD 11 billion Bank Mandiri Rights Issue in 2010, Indonesia’s second biggest rights issue of that year. In his day-to-day practice, he plays an instrumental role in conducting due diligence exercises on merger and acquisition targets in a wide variety of sectors and industries, and in connection with proposed public offerings. He is currently working on the due diligence process for the Indonesian state’s high-profile divestment of its stake in PT Bank Mutiara Tbk.  He also assists with AHP’s foreign investment practice and is now advising an overseas corporation on its plans for Indonesia.

Edwin holds a bachelor of law degree from Pelita Harapan University (UPH), which he earned in only three academic years, and an advocate's professional training certificate from the Indonesian Bar Association (Peradi). As a student, he represented Pelita Harapan University in a number of national moot court competitions.

Passionate about the law from early on, Edwin served as a member of the Law Faculty Senate at university, where he played a key role in organizing law-related and social events.  An avid sportsman, he also played on the UPH Law Faculty’s futsal team.
